Originally a voice and multichannel concert piece, Historias de Anna y Mohammad is based in the poignant story of Mohammad Barud, who, among others, was put in solitary confinement during the 80's. Dr. Aboker, his cell neighbor, discreetly taught all prisoners a sort of morse code. Anna Karenina broke through the walls, while a civil war happened in the outside.
This sound installation was worked with Enrique García Alcalá , who helped me translate the written and spoken word to 0s and 1s according to morse code, in order to activate the sounds that accompanied Anna Karenina lecture.
